The
client provided the original electrode forms, a modified
part from the worn die cavity, the
original
part drawings, and the request to raise the height of
center section by 0.375 inches.
Multiple 3D scans and contour scans of both the forged
part and the electrode form were
conducted.
A CAD model was built from the scan data, drawings and
height change. IGES
surfaces were exported to the client, which runs Euclid.
The new model was used
to CNC
machine EDM electrodes.
