This part was originally produced in 1976. The die cavities were worn. The EDM

electrodes had been machined using a pantograph, but the shop's pantograph had been

sold many years ago. There was no CAD data, just the original drawing.

Multiple 3D scans and contour scans of the forged part were conducted. The CAD model

was built from the scan data and referencing the original drawing.
